Year 4 and 5 went on a very chilly winter walk this morning around Sutton. The frosty walk has enabled the children to begin to write some poems, which they will continue to draft and improve during the week. Rich vocabulary, descriptive language and thinking about the senses will help them to produce some superb poems, all of which we began on our winter walk. As well as the frost and bare trees, the children also found some uplifting, first signs of spring; juxtaposing imagery to include in their poems. The children were encouraged to take photographs to record and help them to recollect what they saw on the walk.
