Ampleforth Abbey Trip Year 4, 5 and 6

On Tuesday 22nd September, the Year 4, 5 and 6’s went to Ampleforth Abbey for a musical outreach day. The day consisted of a tour around the Abbey Church, a singing workshop, a purcussion workshop, a musical science workshop and culminated in a performance of the songs learnt during the day. The children found out about the day to day work of a monk at Ampleforth Abbey, hunted for mice, and sang their hearts out in the beautiful surroundings of the Abbey Church.

Our children performed ‘For God So Loved The World’ acapella with a split round in the middle. The children were a credit to the school and their families.

The children were accompanied by Mrs Bird and Mrs Williams, a valued member of the School Governers who also helps with many of the musical activities in school on a weekly basis. Many thanks go to Mrs Williams!

Well done to all of Year 4, 5 and 6 for their fantastic behaviour and brilliant singing on the day.
