Headteacher Appointment
As you are aware, the school’s Governing Body interviewed candidates for the post of Headteacher before half-term. It is with pleasure that I can inform you that the Governing Body have appointed a Headteacher to begin in post at the beginning of the summer term 2018. It was a unanimous decision supported by the Local Authority and the Diocese. The successful candidate is Mrs Helen Pye, currently a Deputy Headteacher at Badger Hill Primary Academy, York. Mrs Pye is highly respected as a school leader by the pupils, their families and the wider community, and, indeed, professionally by staff. Over the coming weeks, Mrs Pye will be liaising with Mr Buttery and the Governors to ensure that the transition to her new post is smooth and successful from the outset. Mr Buttery will return to his substantive post at Crayke CE Primary School at the start of the summer term. He has offered his continuing support to Sutton-on-the-Forest and Mrs Pye, for which we are grateful.
As the new Chair of Governors, I would like to thank all the staff and pupils for their support and contribution to the recruitment process, in particular the School Council.
