Year 2 and 3 have been investigating the properties of rocks in a series of fun experiments today! We learnt some new scientific vocabulary (permeable, impermeable, durable and density) to help us with our experiments and group the rocks by their properties.
The children tested for permeability using water, durability using vinegar and scouring pads, density using a tub of water and also tested if the rocks felt hard or smooth. We all got a good set of results and had a great time testing how hard rocks were!
