As part of our topic on Evolution and Inheritance the upper juniors became fossil hunters for the afternoon. Using very delicate tools (toothpicks!) they had to extract as many fossils from the rocks as possible ( the rocks were biscuits and the fossils were chocolate chips). They then had to use gummy snakes and layers of bread to simulate the pressure required over thousands of years to create an impression in layers of rock.

They had a lot of fun and some of the gummy snakes disappeared (  I wonder where….)
