Mrs Moulds from the County Music Service comes into school every Thursday to teach the Year 4, 5 and 6 Music. Initially the children had the opportunity to try the various instruments on offer which included: Violin, Viola and Cello before choosing to ‘specialise’ in one of them.
The children have learnt about the different parts of their instrument; the names of the open strings; and how to pluck an ostinato or small melody to an accompaniment. They are now learning to hold their bow correctly and have begun to use it in the making of music. The sessions are proving to be very enjoyable!
Note: If you have not yet filled in a consent form to take your instrument home to practise and you would like to do so, please contact Mrs Adams and she will be able to give you a letter.
