The children have been extremely busy and creative this term, working hard in Art, following their chocolate topic. We began by making extra-large 3D chocolate bars. The children worked brilliantly in teams, supporting each other and researching how to make them as identical as possible to the “real” chocolate bars.
They then designed their own chocolate bars. They used their sketch books to think of ideas – what it would look like, what ingredients they would use, the name, and how much it would cost. As you can imagine, their imaginations ran wild!
We finished off this term’s topic by making sweet/occasional jars from jam jars and plastic spoons. We wrote a list of Health & Safety rules in our sketch books before we started so that the children understood the dangers of using glue guns, cutting spoons, and working with glass. They really enjoyed gluing the spoons on the jars, designing the jars, and adding the finishing touches.
As you can see, we have had an amazing term being creative and learning how to use new tools safely. Thank you for all your support this year and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.
