Sporty problem solving

Year 2 and 3 have been working really hard in maths lessons learning all about using the inverse, solving missing number problems and doing some excellent independent problem solving with addition and subtraction.

To make use of all our problem solving skills, we had a sporty problem solving morning! All the children worked in groups of 3 to record some sports data, carefully measuring their results using timers and metre sticks. They then used the data they collected to work out the answers to some challenging maths problems.

Everyone had a good time collecting data and solving the maths problems – we all got in a bit of extra exercise too!
