Year 2/3 have been reading some of the Katie Morag stories by Mairi Hedderwick and have enjoyed learning about the Isle of Struay, where the books are set. We decided that it would be a great idea if everyone visited the Isle of Struay and researched, planned and wrote pieces of persuasive writing to convince people to visit the island.
Some members of the class read out their pieces of persuasive writing and we all pretended that we were watching exciting, persuasive tv adverts! All the children were great at reading out their own work, and our audience were very attentive listeners.
