Mapping our village

This afternoon, class 1 went on a Geography jaunt around our village. The children were looking at human features, in the west of the village. They used a compass to work out where North, South, East and West were and really enjoyed using them.  The children had their photo taken in front of a human feature and on returning to school these were printed out and the children then created a map, trying to remember if they were near or far from school, left or right of the church, east or west of their friend. We had great fun and the children did remarkably well at creating the map. Well done class 1!
