Following reading our story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers in class 1 on Monday, the children went on a muddy welly walk to find the lost pages of the book. They looked carefully at the illustration they found and talked with their friends about what was happening in that part of the story. They got themselves into the correct order, helping each other when mistakes were made. The children then each told their part of the story, some adding speech and expression in their voices.
Throughout the day the children role played and retold the story using small world puppets, programmed the bee bots around a ‘Lost and Found’ map, challenging each other to get from one place to another. We talked about how the characters might have felt and the children discussed how they might feel at different points in the story too. It was a fantastic day, the children worked really hard, I am very proud of them!
