Let`s celebrate – The Queen`s 90th Birthday

It was a royal occasion in school on Friday-as the children celebrated the Queen`s 90th birthday in style!

The event was the finale of an “Enrichment Week” based on British Values and the Monarchy. There were two competitions running throughout the week- design and make a  2D or 3D birthday card for the Queen or design and make 3 cupcakes fit for the Queen. There were some fantastic entries the children had really embraced the theme and it made a spectacular display at the back of the hall.

The school hall looked amazing all decked out in union jacks and the children/staff were all wearing red/white and blue- a brilliant party atmosphere. The recorder group played the National Anthem to set the scene and then the children joined in with plenty of flag waving to the tune of “Rule Britannia”. After a celebration tea kindly donated by our parents the children were all presented with a commemorative medal.

Certainly an afternoon to remember…. as the photographs show-enjoy!
