Year 2/3 have been learning all about Vincent van Gogh in their art lessons. Last week we discussed his paintings of flowers and landscapes, talking about the colours, painting techniques and how they made us feel.
This week we looked really carefully at how van Gogh painted his paintings. We zoomed into one of them to look at the individual brushstrokes and how van Gogh uses thick paint to create layers and swirls.
We had a go at practising our brushstrokes and getting used to using thick paint. Everyone painted really carefully and next week we’ll have a go at painting some flowers and landscapes with out new painting techniques!
